If you place hazardous mixtures on the EU market (i.e. mixtures classified as hazardous on the basis of their health or physical effects), you will need to update your product labels to include an unique formula identifier (UFI) code. You must also notify these hazardous mixtures to the appointed bodies (i.e. Poison Centers) using the format and content harmonized by the amended Annex VIII of CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
This presentation is from a free webinar given by Kerona in June 2021 which gave an overview of how to prepare such poison centre notifications.
In particular the session covered the following:
– A brief background on CLP Regulation Annex VIII, which details poison centre notification (PCN) requirements
– A run through of what data and information is needed for notification
– How to submit EU PCN notifications through the ECHA portal and monitor the progress of submissions
